The Sunday Pranasphere

Aesthesis of Devotion in a Visible Province

Hi Friend,

Tomorrow I’ll head into San Diego to spend time with an artist whose work I’ve followed for decades. My fascination began in my twenties. Since then, I’ve found myself standing in front of their pieces in Paris, London, New York, Prague — quietly making pilgrimages whenever I could.

There is something about seeing the work in person that has always felt essential to me. Not reproductions. The real thing. The scale. The texture. The marks that carry the pressure of a human hand.

To follow an artist across cities and years is, in its own way, a form of devotion. I’ve never outgrown that impulse. If anything, it has matured. Each encounter reminds me that a life given steadily to one vision leaves a visible trace.

What moves me most is not just mastery, but evolution. The refusal to calcify. The willingness to keep risking change rather than settling into institutional approval or predictable form. There is a quiet warning in that for all of us. Creative life withers when it becomes overly managed, categorized, or preserved too carefully.

To remain alive in one’s work — whether painting, building, writing, or living — requires guarding wonder. Institutions may stabilize culture, but they can also smooth away its edges.

It feels like a privilege to still be curious. To still make the drive. To still stand and look — and to remember that staying creative is not youthful indulgence, but lifelong discipline.

About The Sunday Pranasphere newsletter: You are receiving a newsletter that is part of an ecosystem called The Pranasphere at Pranayama.com. All modalities within The Pranasphere, including this newsletter, are designed to deepen our understanding of how we are inherently connected. Rather than emphasizing difference, we focus on shared patterns of experience, with the intention of counter balancing modern media’s aggressive narratives that often amplify fear and separation.

Though the subjects may differ—culture, science, nature, philosophy, literature, lived experience, and the ways in which they are delivered (i.e., newsletter, podcast, visual arts, listening practices, embodied somatic movement, Metta Meditation)—they are gathered to deepen our shared understanding of life-force literacy, and how becoming educated in the language of the breath reveals how a lifetime of experience is held in the body and expressed in the present moment.

The Sunday Pranasphere Nature is the answer again.. Borrego Springs, California Hi Friend, Tomorrow I will drive east toward Borrego Springs, into the wide austerity of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, where the desert is once again in conversation with our latest rain storms. When the Southern California desert flowers, it does so with true authority. What appears barren for most of the year suddenly reveals a hidden treasury—dunes stitched with evening primrose (Oenothera deltoides), washes...

The Sunday Pranasphere Marie Curie | Neurodivergent Cardiff Reef, Cardiff By The Sea - Ca. Hi Friend, After class yesterday, I had the unique opportunity to go swimming with my mate Marc, who had attended the class. We went swimming out at the Cardiff-by-the-Sea reef, where some extremely big waves are hitting the coast right now and the rip current is in full force, which made it incredibly fun for both of us, as we are very strong swimmers. All the same, we could feel the magnificent Pranic...
